Bellator Fighting Championships: Drawing Some Serious Attention
Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) is growing more and more popular each day and its popularity is luring a large number of organizations to promote new events. Bellator Fighting Championships, for example, is a new promotion that started only a year ago; but the huge popularity of this sports form has encouraged the authorities to start a season two and this season, the promotion will surely be more star-studded as the organization have managed to sign Dan Hornbuckle, the top free agent in the business.
The season two tournament of Bellator Fighting Championships is a 12 week season and will commence on April 8th, 2010. It is segregated in four different weight classes and the matches in each category will determine the No.1 contenders who will compete against the fighters crowned as champions in the debut season of the organization. Along with Hornbuckle, Bellator has also signed Jacob “Tick Tock” McClintock, a bright future prospect of the sports and Ben Askren, a former two-time NCAA Division 1 National Champion and US Olympic wrestler. The organization is also bringing on innovative broadcast alliance ideas. They have signed a deal for live weekly events on FSN and weekend highlight shows on Telemundo and NBC. The first season of the event was aired on ESPN Deportes and managed solid ratings in Spanish language stations. With innovative ideas and star fighters in roaster, Bellator can surely be the next “Big Thing” in MMA world.
