The New Year finally bought some reality check for Brock Lesnar and his camp. This popular fighter is out of competition since July 2009 due to a mystery injury and the UFC champion never came clear with his latest health status. But now it seems UFC authorities want to sort this problem out once and for all as the fans are expected to get some clear picture of the whole scenario next week. After the pre-event press meet for UFC 108, President Dana White confirmed in a small conference that now it seems Lesnar’s injury can be a career ending one. He also hinted a rumored matchup between Frank Mir and Shane Carwin for UFC 111 which can be a decider of the new UFC Heavyweight Champion.

According to the official statement from UFC, Lesnar underwent a “minor surgery” in last November to treat his case of diverticulitis. UFC president Dana White confirmed later that Brock has been diagnosed with additional health issues as well; but the authorities never came clear with the nature of his problems in order to maintain the privacy of the champion. Lesnar has already proved himself as the most bankable star in UFC; but if sidelined indefinitely, UFC now will go on without him. Currently, UFC is having two big matches; one between Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira and Cain Velasquez and the other between Frank Mir and Shane Carwin. The organization may change any of these matches the title decider based on what Brock reports after he visits the doctor this week. But one thing is almost for sure, Brock is not returning to the octagon any time sooner.
