Injury has now become a serious concern in MMA sports and WEC must not be a happy company these days. The promotions of this brand are facing serious setbacks as the pre-scheduled matches are being cancelled and more and more fighters are getting sidelined due to injuries. Just a few days before WEC 46, injury strikes the promotion all over again; and this time its victim is Yves Jobouin. The fighter was signed to fight against Mark Hominick on the preliminary card of “WEC 46: Varner vs. Henderson”. But injury forced him to pull his name out and it will be WEC newcomer Bryan Caraway to face Hominick at ARCO Arena in Sacramento, California on 10th January, 2010.

Hominick is a former UFC fighter and has faced two consecutive defeats in WEC recently; one against Josh Grispi and the other against Rani Yahya. He must be desperate to avoid the third one. He has, however, managed two victories over Danny Martinez and Ben Greer in the Candian-based TKO organization, a longtime home for this Ontario native. Caraway, on the other hand, must be eager to win in his WEC debut. This young Washington resident has gathered experience under major banners like Strikeforce and EliteXC. He has managed 12 out of his 14 career victories by submission.
