Only a few days back UFC president Dana White stated that the current health status of Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar will be determined later this week and the organization will think about the necessary steps related to the championship accordingly. But it seems the UFC authorities are not in the mood of wasting any more time and trying to arrange the Heavyweight division with the remaining contenders. UFC recently declared an official statement where the brand confirmed a match between No. 1 contender Shane Carwin and former to time heavyweight champion Frank Mir for UFC’s interim Heavyweight title. The match will take place in now-official UFC 111 that will take place on March 27th at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.
In fact, that match will be the night’s first of the two title clashes. The other title match is going to be a Welterweight Championship between Georges St-Pierre and Dan Hardy. The interim Heavyweight title match has been rumored recently. The UFC 111 tickets will be on sale from Saturday, January 9th at ticketmaster.com. But the ticket selling site is yet to add an updated official list of the events. UFC has been to the Garden State only once in last four years. That show drew 14,701 viewers on that day and the UFC authorities expect an even better response this time.
