Change in UFC 108 Schedule: Hazelett Replaces Condit

The upcoming “UFC 108” faced yet another setback as the UFC authorities are forced to change the pre-scheduled match between Carlos Condit and Paul Daley. The “Natural Born Killer” has suffered an injury during training which forced him to withdraw his name from the planned co-feature bout against British slugger Paul “Semtex” Daley. Condit is now being replaced by Dustin “McLovin” Hazelett. Hazelett has verbally agreed to replace Condit but the bout agreements are yet to be signed. The match is expected to be featured as the co-main event of the January 2nd event in Las Vegas.
Hazelett’s last in ring performance was in November 2008. He had won that match against Tamdan McCrory but “McLovin” injured his knee during that match that forced him to stay away from the ring for more than a year. He was scheduled to return in UFC 106 against Karo Parisyan but the match was later cancelled. Hazelett is a serious threat on the ground and this 23 year old has won 9 of his 12 matches by submission. Daley, on the other hand, is more comfortable as a “striker”. Thus the match might turn out to be a classic “Grappler vs. Striker” matchup. Daley defeated Martin Kampmann in UFC 103 by TKO and this 26 year old has won 10 out of his past 12 matches; 17 of his 22 career wins are by TKO or knockout. So the match certainly has all the ingredients to turn out to be a classic.
