UFC 110 lost its glitz and glamour a little more as the undefeated Welterweight Champion Korean Dong Hyun Kim withdraws his name from the event. He was planned to fight against Chris Lytle; but his knee injury forced him to stay away from the competition. Kim, however, will remain on the card; but his replacement has not yet been decided. The show is to be held on February 21st at the Acer Arena in Sydney, Australia and it is already a sell-out.

Kim has managed to grab 12 career victories so far and 6 of them are won by TKO or knockout. He has recorded victories over fighters like Jason Tan, T.J. Grant and Matt Brown. He was defeated earlier by Karo Parisyan; but the result was overturned to a no-contest when Karo failed to come clear in the post-match drug test. Lytle, meanwhile, has managed to grab three straight “Fight of the Night” awards recently and is looking forward to another potential one. Kim’s absence has left him without any opponent; the UFC authority is planning to book a strong, scrappy fighter against him to ensure the Australian fans the worth of their money. But these injuries of the top fighters have now become a serious headache for the brand as it may raise some serious questions about their credibility.
