Fedor vs. Lesnar: Can It Ever Happen?

No matter whether it’s Randy Couture or Brock Lesnar, the request keeps coming on. The fans across the globe want to see Brock Lesnar, the current UFC Champ one on one against the former PRIDE Heavyweight Champion Fedor Emelianenko. The requests flooded all over again when Fedor managed to add another name to his list of victims as he smashed previously undefeated Brett Rogers last Saturday at “Fedor vs. Rogers”, a Strikeforce and M-1 Global co-promotion. The fans believe a match between Fedor and Lesnar will create history in the business and become an experience of a lifetime. But there have always been some practical problems to do so as UFC is unwilling to co-promote. Jerry Millen, Global USA vice president of M-1, has a fine solution: do it for free!
Millen believes if UFC is truly interested to make this happen, they can always find a way. He invites UFC to Stary Oskol and says he is ready to book ring or cage matches of three rounds, each round of 5 minutes. But he thinks it should not involve any money as he said, “We’ll do it for fun.”
Millen believes the fighters in the UFC are great, but UFC is not good brand as they follow the WWE model. They want to own the fighters. When fighters sign with the UFC, they actually sign their soul away. Fedor doesn’t want to do so and that is why he will never sign with UFC. He’s doing very well without signing with them. Some critics believe the Russian champion fighter Fedor’s refusal to fight in UFC is caused by his deep desire to keep his nearly unblemished record intact. But Millen finds it nothing but laughable.
