Dave Jansen and Kamal Shalorus has reasons enough to enjoy the festive season a little more as their scheduled bout for “WEC 46: Varner vs. Henderson” has now been shifted to the main card. This means, there will be no Jansen vs. Kamal on the evening’s preliminary card as the fans worldwide can see the match live on air! The main event of the evening features a Light Heavyweight Title unification match between interim champion Benson Henderson and the 155 pound category champion Jamie Varner. The event will take place on January 10th, 2010 at ARCO Arena in Sacramento, California.

Jansen is an M-1 Challenge and SportFight veteran who managed 13 consecutive victories in the beginning of his career that earned him a WEC contract. His promotional debut took place in last October against veteran Richard Crunkilton at WEC 43 and Jansen came out victorious there. Shalorus, on the other hand, is a fine prospect who turned pro only a couple of years ago and earned a position in WEC with his sheer talent and hard work. Earlier this month in WEC 44, this Iranian fighter defeated Will Kerr in an 86 second TKO. So the match is sure to be an interesting one. The main card matches of WEC 46 airs on Versus.
