B.J. Penn presently is involved with his family and is busy with his loved ones. This simply means that the UFC lightweight champ might not be seen fighting in the cage as soon as the others would want to see him. Dana White the UFC President has been heard telling several press outlets about Penn’s next and upcoming title defense to be held against the title’s No. 1 contender namely Kenny Florian. Kenny co-incidentally was a considered to be a possibility for the UFC 99 that was held on the 13th of June last year in Cologne, Germany. Penn’s older brother who also happens to manage him has told Sherdog.com on Monday that the date for the match wouldn’t be feasible for BJ. According to JD this championship match is pretty close to BJ’s last match and presently BJ wants to spend some quality time with the baby. Penn who is presently 30 years old was blessed with his first child a daughter named Aeva in the month of October 2008. He however did spent a big amount of time to promote and as his training for the mega-fight that was to be held on the 31st January against the UFC welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre in Las Vegas. St. Pierre had pummeled Penn for the majority of the match and Penn’s cornermen had to call it quits else the beating would have continued. This match was pretty controversial and it was alleged that the cornermen of Penn’s opponents used Vaseline inappropriately.
