As we know, Ultimate Fighting Championship or UFC bought Pride Fighting Championships in the year 2007 and Mauricio “Shogun” Rua happened to be the most popular Pride fighter amongst all the others and he was the one who all the UFC fans were excited to see. The ‘Shogun’ is regarded by several people as to be the best fighter in the light heavyweight category in the entire world and he has scored a 12-1 in the Pride.

The UFC fans also expected him to go on head to head with some of the best light heavyweight fighters of the entire UFC world. However, much to the disappointment of the fans, the aforementioned clashes didn’t take place and Rua fought for UFC just one time in the year 2007. This match was a let down for the Rua fans since he lost to Forrest Griffin and due to all of his multiple injuries he didn’t participate in any match at all in the year 2008.

Much to the relief of his fans and friends, Rua is now completely healthy and is just ready to get back in a match. Rua already has a scheduled fight against Mark Coleman on the 17th of January at UFC 93 and he has a chance to avenge himself of his former lose in UFC. In an interview Rua said that he feels like that his former fight was devoid of a perfect ending and at the UFC 93 he will have his opportunity to end it.
