WEC authorities are ready to blow the fans away yet again with a confirmed date and location for WEC 47. The brand is now looking for a suitable candidate to fight against the former Bantamweight Champion Miguel Torres. The fighter is probably going to test his skills against another top rated contender, as our sources have confirmed; but the name is yet to be decided. Torres lost the belt to Brian Bowles in last August and the WEC General Manager Reed Harris has revealed in a recent interview that Torres is eager to fight and should get a title shot soon.

WEC is traditionally careful about announcing or committing a match to the fans in so advance as they always prefer to confirm if the fighters are and on board for the fight. Harris in his recent interview followed the same tradition and didn’t particularly mention that a victory in WEC 47 will guarantee Torres a shot at the winner of the Bowles and Dominick match which too will take place on the same night. But he made it very clear that Torres is certainly in the hunt. Meanwhile, Damacio Page is reportedly the top candidate to face Torres in the March 6th event in Columbus, Ohio.
