Phil Davis: A Fighter with Grey Matters
UFC is going through some serious trouble with a roaster full of injured superstars. But in the midst of this upset, Phil Davis has brought some fresh lease of air in the organization. This young fighter has agreed to a deal with the UFC last week and will be competing in the Light Heavyweight division. Davis began his professional career 4-0 and all the four victories came in a span of just eight months. The move both boosts the Light Heavyweight division of UFC and brings a thoughtful and intelligent fighter who excelled at the highest level of collegiate wrestling.
As a kid, Davis’ list of athletic participation included everything from baseball and football to figure skating and track. But, books took precedence in home where he had two education-centered parents. He appeared in a public school at the elementary level and there he had classes in two languages with advanced work in other subjects. He went to the local public school during his junior high days and continued to excel in academics. In his college career, Davis used to see his teammates and others involved in wrestling train for or make moves into MMA which appealed to him as a prospect of future competition. Davis was offered his first amateur fight around two months after starting his MMA training. Fans will soon get to see the 25-year-old San Diego resident in the cage, where this educated fighter wants to grow as the finest competitor.
