Only a few days before his matchup against Thiago Silva, Rashad Evans looks all focused. This young man has grown some considerable amount of popularity along with his huge existing fan base since he played the role of a coach in the 10th season of “The Ultimate Fighter”. Earlier, UFC had plans to put Evans and Quinton “Rampage” Jackson in a fight after TUF which was instrumental in creating a huge buildup. But thanks to Jackson’s clash with the UFC authorities; “Rampage” was sidelined and the match didn’t happen! Jackson, however, recently stated his plans to return to the octagon to fulfill his contract terms and that much anticipated match may take place soon.

Evans’ focus, for now, is solely on Thiago Silva as they headline the first UFC show in the upcoming year; “UFC 108” on 2nd January at the MGM Garden Arena, Las Vegas. A victory here may well provide Evans with a chance to earn a title shot against the current champ Lyoto Machida. Thiago Silva is another contender for the title belt; so their match in UFC 108 is going to be the decisive factor. Evans, just like Silva, faced his only career loss in UFC against Machida and it will be his first match since he lost his belt against him in May 2009. He also has some unfinished business to take care of against “Rampage”. So, 2010 seems to be a busy year for this former champ!
