The New Year couldn’t bring a change of fate to Benji Radach! Injuries has been a serious problem in his career so far and guess what, the bug has struck again! In a recent interview, the Strikeforce Middleweight fighter has stated that his shoulder, right bicep and pectoral muscle could be torn and the MRI report will soon reveal the intensity of the damage. But it seems that the fighter is determined not to surrender himself to injuries as he is planning to be ready to fight again before the second CBS-televised Strikeforce event which will take place in April. He wants to face the winner of Jan. 30 “Strikeforce: Miami” Melvin Manhoef vs. Robbie Lawler fight there.
Radach, the 29 year old Strikeforce star was planned to meet Robbie Lawler at Strikeforce: Evolution past December. But the match didn’t take place as he was not medically cleared to contest due to a badly broken right hand; the injury he suffered during the KO loss last April to Scott Smith. Radach claimed that shortly after the December event, he was cleared to train and he assisted Jay Silva for his recent UFC Fight Night 20 match. He used an electronic bone simulator between training sessions to aid the recovery of his injured hand. Radach currently works as a corporate trainer for LA Boxing, a chain of gyms across the U.S., and said the company had recently made pay cuts.
