The UFC Awards

Every sporting event has a certain end of the season awards. This award is given out to the exceptionally brilliant performers who by their own ability stand out from the rest. The UFC has recently held its First ever Annual End of the Year Awards. There are a total of ten awards to be given out.

The Rookie of the Year Award- goes to Brock Lesnar. Brock made his UFC debut in UFC 81 in a match where his opponent was Frank Mir. Lesnar lost that match however made a very impressive return with a win at UFC 87 where his opponent was Heath Herring. Later Lesnar was fixed a title shot at the 91st UFC. This match was against the UFC legend Randy Couture. Brock stunned all after he TKO’d Randy in the second round and won.

The Submission of the Year Award-goes out to Steve Cantwell who currently is one of MMA’s most loathed performers. It however should be kept in mind that he did break his opponent’s arm with a lethal arm bar. Steve also boasts of a total of four submission victories and also has three victories by the arm bar.

The Knockout of the Year Award- goes to Rashad Evans. Evans has had an amazing knockout at UFC 88. He did this particular KO against Chuck Liddell who happens to be one of the biggest names in the entire illustrious history of UFC .This particular knockout also helped Rashad in his upcoming title shot in a match against Forrest Griffin.
