July 11th’s UFC 100 was undoubtedly one of the most exciting and anticipated event in the emerging sports history. Just over 11,000 fans watched ringside at the Mandalay Bay Center in Las Vegas, Nevada which was one of of the most watched events in recent years. People tuning in on Pay Per View brought in an estimated 1.4 million purchases for the fight. The fight card was packed full of excellent fights, including UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar who defeated Frank Mir in the 2nd round.

Brock had complete control throughout the fight while landing many direct punches to Mir’s bloody face. To further prove the former WWE stars mentality, he showed poor sportsmanship by getting in the face of his opponent seconds after the fight ended. He then went on to flip off the fans who paid money to see him fight which was followed by many boo’s. Lesnar basically laughed off the fans reaction to his win and went on to say some things that in my opinion give the mma sport a bad reputation. This sport was created to step away from the WWE spotlight into a more serious, mature environment.

Brock Lesnar celebrating victory over Frank Mir
“Frank Mir had a horseshoe up his ass. I told him that a year ago. I pulled it out of him and beat him over the head with it. I’m going to drink a Coors Light. That’s right a Coors. Bud Light don’t pay me nothing. I may even get on top of my wife tonight.”

Dan “Hendo” Henderson fought the english Michael Bisping and controlled the entire fight. Henderson was very confident with his right hand while Bisping continued circling right into the powerful hits. He ended the first right with a solid punch which carried over into the second round where Henderson landed a massive right hand that knocked Bisping out cold. In the welterweight division, UFC Champion Georges St-Pierre totally dominated Thiago Alves in a unanimous five round decision. In other fights, Alan Belcher lost in a three round split decision to Yoshihiro Akiyama while Jon Fitch used his wrestling background to defeat Brazillian Paulo Thiago in a three round decision as well.
