UFC 106 Revenues: Are Things Changing?

The UFC is growing gradually and drawing some serious attention of the viewers as the UFC shows are attracting more and more fans each time. The brand is forced to sideline its biggest superstar and current UFC champion Brock Lesnar due to injury problems but still going strong. The last show, UFC 106 proved this all over again. Though many critics claimed that the event fell short of expectations this time, it earned $ 3 million at the box office.
In the post-fight press conference UFC President Dana White declared that UFC 106 took place before 10,529 live fans on last Saturday at the Mandalay Bay Events in Las Vegas. The official figures are going to be certified soon by the NSAC (Nevada State Athletic Commission).
But this show produced the smallest crowd to see a UFC event at the Mandalay Bay Events Center since UFC 64 in 2006 which was attended by only 10,173 fans. White, however, didn’t release the information about complementary tickets issued in this show. The revenue generated from the show determines the average price of UFC 106 ticket was $ 284.93. This is 39.6% less than July’s UFC 100, most recent UFC event here.
However, the amount that this show was able to generate is quite appreciable as well. The authorities expect that the scenario will surely change when the brand is back with its complete roaster. So Brock, get well soon!
