UFC owner confirms Georges St. Pierre's next opponent

Following the vast amount of rumors and the recent mentioning of it during July 11th’s UFC 100 event, Dana White has now confirmed who will be challenging St. Pierre for his Welterweight Champion title. Martin Kampmann and Mike Swick plan to do battle at the upcoming UFC 103 which many are saying will be one of the main fights of the night due to the title shot at stake.

After St. Pierre’s dominating performance against Thiago Alves in a 5 round unanimous decision, he was quoted saying “I want to face the best guy”. He is currently healing up due to a groin injury he received during the fight. Although St. Pierre has not fully agreed to the match up due to his injury he says he will be taking a few steps back and then make a decision in the coming weeks. I honestly think he will be ready seeing UFC 103 is scheduled for sometime in October of 2009 to decide who he will be fighting. Then a date must be set later on which could be on the same card as the highly rumored Fedor vs. Lesnar and possibly a return of Kimbo trying to regain his status in the cage.
