UFC Signed New Talent for Light Heavyweight Division

The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has a good news for the fans in this festive season! They have signed a new star to strengthen up the Light Heavyweight division. This time UFC authorities have managed to sign Phil Davis, a former NCAA Division 1 National wrestling champion. Davis’ management team has confirmed the signing today, but the terms of the deal are yet to be disclosed. The news was first disclosed by his teammate Brandon Vera; he announced the signing via Twitter on Tuesday. Chad Dublin of LionHeart Management, however, later stated that the promotional debut date for this 25-year-old has not yet been determined.
Davis turned pro in 2008 when he emerged as a four-time All-American and 2008 Division 1 National Champion at Penn State. He has an impressive 116-20 career record which includes a 26-1 mark in his senior year. When asked for his reactions, Davis said that he decided to start training MMA after he left college. He has a dream to become the best fighter in the planet and he believes MMA can provide him with the platform. During his 14 months pro MMA career, Davis has managed a 4-0 record where he participated in promotions like “Ultimate Warrior Challenge” and “Palace Fighting Championships”. This Pennsylvania native is currently training in San Diego and the American Kickboxing Academy in San Jose, California.
